Your first appointment is a one-on-one evaluation with a licensed physical therapist. We'll take time to understand your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals before creating a treatment plan that's personalized specifically for you.

Comfortable athletic or workout clothing is recommended, especially for your initial evaluation.

Initial evaluations and follow-up appointments are typically 45 minutes. During your first visit, your therapist will evaluate your current condition and discuss a personalized treatment plan.

Virginia offers direct access to physical therapy in many cases, meaning you may not need a physician referral. Some insurance plans—including Medicare and Tricare Prime—may still require one.

Absolutely. You're the most important member of your healthcare team and have the right to choose the provider who best fits your goals.

After your evaluation, your therapist will recommend a treatment plan based on your condition and goals. The number of visits varies from person to person.

Patients are responsible for any applicable deductibles, co-pays, or co-insurance required by their insurance plan. For cash based services, fee is due at time of service.

Our office will review your insurance benefits with you and help explain any expected out-of-pocket costs before treatment begins.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Please bring:
Photo ID
Insurance card
Completed patient paperwork (the digital link will be emailed to you to fill out before initial appointment)
Prescription or referral, if required by your insurance
Any recent X-rays, MRI reports, or physician documentation related to your condition
Childcare Available
Need childcare during your appointment?
Thrive Integrative PT is located inside of the Onelife Fitness Gym. If you need Physical Therapy but don't have childcare, Onelife's Kids Club is available for up to 2 hours for a drop-in rate of $10 per child, per visit. Call Onelife Winchester at 540-667-4653 for available hours.
